Katherine Denise Gomez
- Managing Attorney
Katherine Denise Gomez is the Managing Attorney of the Family Law Department at Suday Law PLLC, where she combines the perspective of an educator with the advocacy skills of a litigator to help families navigate some of the most challenging transitions of their lives. Her practice focuses on divorce, child custody and conservatorship, child support, modifications and enforcement, protective orders, family violence matters, and family law litigation.
Katherine’s path to becoming an attorney was not a traditional one. She is a first-generation college graduate. She never grew up planning to practice law and does not come from a legal family. Before attending law school, she worked as a school teacher—a career that taught her the importance of listening, educating, and helping people navigate difficult circumstances. Her desire to challenge herself and find a way to help more people ultimately led her to law school.
Although she initially returned to teaching while awaiting her bar results, her legal career soon took her into family law, where she found a natural connection between her experience as an educator and her desire to advocate for individuals and families.
As a family law attorney, Katherine believes that effective representation is about more than simply knowing the law. Family law clients are often making life-changing decisions during periods of significant emotional and financial stress. She takes the time to listen to her clients, explain the law and legal process clearly, and help them understand their options so they can make informed decisions about their families. Her goal is to find solutions that work for each client’s unique circumstances while protecting what matters most—and, whenever possible, giving clients back the time and resources that belong with their families.
Katherine chose to join Suday Law because of the firm’s commitment to community, its culture of service, and the way it treats both its clients and its team. As Managing Attorney of the Family Law Department, she is passionate about building a practice that reflects those values and provides clients with thoughtful, compassionate, and strong advocacy. She hopes to continue growing the department while creating opportunities to mentor others and become more involved in community outreach and service.
Outside of practicing law, Katherine is an enthusiastic animal lover and proudly considers herself the neighborhood “cat lady.” She regularly feeds neighborhood cats and looks for opportunities to help rehome them. At home, she shares her life with Morty, her dog; Poof, her cat; and Luigi, her bird—all of whom peacefully live together. Katherine also enjoys mentoring others and is always looking for meaningful ways to support her community.
For Katherine, practicing family law is ultimately about people: understanding where they are, helping them understand their options, and advocating for a path forward that allows them to spend less time and energy on conflict and more time on what matters most—their families.
